SRMS Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Course 2025

The SRMS Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Course 2024 will be held on Sunday (yes, Sunday, again!) 31st August 2025 at The Academia, SGH (full-day).

The curriculum had been revamped as a 3-yearly syllabus intended for synchronisation with the Rehabilitation Medicine Senior Residency programmes, to encourage uptake of ultrasonography among younger specialists, and allow participants to be exposed to a breadth of topics with specific relevance to the specialty. Last year, in the second part of the workshop series, we focused on live scanning of the lower limb, “Intermediate” topics around Botulinum toxin use, nerve stimulation, and reporting guidelines, and were delighted to have Associate Professor Wu Chueh-Hung from the National Taiwan University Hospital join us for a lecture and demonstration on torsional sonoanatomy in spasticity.

This year, we proudly welcome A/Prof Wu back as our guest lecturer and demonstrator. A/Prof Wu is not just an experienced practicing ultrasonographer, but he has also authored and edited multiple textbooks on musculoskeletal ultrasound and rehabilitation medicine. A/Prof Wu is an accomplished researcher with multiple publications under his belt, and is a much-sought-after speaker at multiple prestigious international conferences and workshops. This year, A/Prof Wu’s topics will be on musculoskeletal ultrasound in the neck and back, as well as intervention targets.

As peripheral pain blocks and ICU skills are necessary for the function of the Rehabilitation SR, we are also covering these topics as part of this year’s “Advanced” curriculum. These rotations will be covered by seasoned SRMS MSK US Course faculty.
